La Libertad port will become in one of the most emblematics departments in El Salvador for tourism, with one of the most ambitious bets for “Surf City”, where there is working on the improvements to place amusements rides in Malecón of La Libertad Port.
The project consists in the installation of five mechanical rides: Ferris Wheel, Roller Coaster, Carousel, Frog Jump and Boat, which have been donated by the cooperation of the People’s Republic of China. In this ambitious project, the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) has provided $ 4 million for the improvement works of the place.
“Surf City is not a physical space, but it is the strategy with which we are developing the entire tourist chain that we have in the coastal-maritime zone, it is a circuit of 50 beaches in which infrastructure is being developed.
The Surf City amusement park has an area of 4,000 square meters and it is located in the tourist complex.
“The amusement park ‘Surf City’ will change the way of doing tourism in the area, in addition to the improvement works that are being carried out in the facilities we will have a development of the tourist infrastructure only in La Libertad of 27%”.
The project is 50% complete, where the spaces for eight restaurants with capacity for 768 seats are adapted and four commercial premises are built, which include viewpoints on the second level, with natural finishes, trees, expansion of the existing green areas , new public spaces and rooms, such as parks equipped with showers, street furniture and shaded benches. It is projected to work later this year.
“The works being carried out are adaptation, construction and expansion of areas to provide new recreation areas, consumer areas, universal accessibility, free pedestrian access and the park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” although initially it is projected to be open until 10:00 at night.
With the projects, more than 100 tourist companies in the area will benefit and will generate better jobs in the sector and the visit of 1 million people, between nationals and foreigners.
Surf City is the Government’s great bet to turn El Salvador into a world-class destination, where everyone wants to visit, invest and live.
